‘Soup Kitchen’ fundraiser hits the spot

14th June 2018

It was a cold wintery day in the MNG Jandakot head office on Tuesday 12th of June when CEO Scott Anderson served up spicy pumpkin soup to staff in a bid to fundraise money for his upcoming Vinnies CEO Sleepout.

Next Thursday the 21st of June, Scott will be swapping home comforts and sleeping on a cardboard box with a sleeping bag at the WACA grounds to fundraise money and awareness for the homeless of Perth.

Staff generously made a note donation in exchange for soup, rolls, beef curry, butter chicken and rice and together raised $529 to add to Scotts tally.

Scott said the various reasons for homelessness is stark and with one of the main reasons being from domestic violence at 38%, this is quite alarming. One of the numbers that scares me most is the number of kids. Being a Dad of four this hits home and I just want to help bring awareness and raise money for this cause.
